Update on state pension from Retired Members Section

It is anticipated that the state pension will rise by 4% from next April, 2020.  This was the figure provided by the Office for National Statistics of the average wage growth up to July this year and should therefore be reproduced in the pension increase due to the Triple Lock protection (yet another issue your committee has worked to protect).  Roughly, the percentage increase should upgrade the weekly payment on the new state pension by £7 and £5 on the basic state pension, still proportionately providing the lowest state pension of the wealthiest 20 plus countries in the world.
