The Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Festival takes place this year 19-21 July. It is a weekend of family entertainment, stalls, political debate, comedy, music and a grand procession through the village.
There is no entrance charge on the Sunday apart from £10 parking fee and bucket collection. The procession takes place from 2 pm, the grand procession of banners through Tolpuddle village during the annual rally is a tremendous sight. The experience of thousands of marchers with colourful banners, bands and protest songs is a highlight of the Festival. Everyone has some reason to join the procession and everyone has a place. The Procession marches to the Methodist Chapel at the eastern end of the village, turns around and comes back.
