UNISON members working in local government and schools will be part of a revolt over public sector pay when they take strike action next Tuesday 14 October. Hampshire UNISON is calling on all its members covered by the ballot to make the action as successful as possible by picketing their workplace and joining one of the local demonstrations planned for the day.

Assemble at 12pm by the Hog Statue outside the Castle. There will be a march through central Winchester before returning for a rally and speeches outside the Great Hall.

Portsmouth

Assemble 12pm in Guildhall Square. There will be a short march before returning to the square for a rally and speeches, followed by a lobby of a Full Council meeting at 2pm.

Hardship Fund

As in previous strikes, the branch will be operating a limited hardship fund to support members who take strike action and suffer particular financial difficulties as a result. Members who wish to apply for assistance should be aware that there is an expectation that they will have played an active part in the strike, by picketing their workplace or joining a local rally, for example. An application form can be downloaded here.
